Annual Ceremony: Refuge, Bodhisattva and Ecosattva Vows (Hybrid)

Sunday, January 3 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm ET

Join Lama Gursam for this precious opportunity to take or renew Refuge, Bodhisattva and Ecosattva Vows with the Natural Dharma Fellowship sangha.

These two ancient Buddhist rituals embody an ethical commitment to ourselves, others and the world we live in. Vows are a collective acknowledgment of reciprocity and interdependence.

• The Refuge Vow expresses our commitment to seek support and wisdom in times of uncertainty.
• The Bodhisattva Vow and the Ecosattva Vow express our commitment to the welfare of all beings and the planet we live on.

Vows are not rules or directives. By participating in a ritual of vow, we frame our lives with purpose and the vision of an awakened future.

This ceremony is open to all members of the NDF sangha and anyone seeking a spiritual community as they enter the New Year.

Please note: If you are already registered for The Courage to Awaken: Meeting the New Year (online or at Wonderwell), you do not need to register separately for the Vow Ceremony. You will be included in the ceremony as part of the retreat, although taking vows is entirely optional.

For those attending the ceremony from Wonderwell Mountain Refuge, please arrive no later than 9:45 am to allow time to settle into the Meditation Hall before the 10:00 am start time.

Please note that lunch is not provided as part of the Vow Ceremony.

Zoom link — The Zoom link will be sent the day before before the ceremony to all those registered by then. If you register after that date, you’ll receive the link shortly after submitting your registration.
