Roxanne Broadbent

Roxanne, a retired public school educator, lives in Charlottesville, VA with her husband, her dearest dharma protector. Her first retreat was Lama Willa’s 2007 Green Tara intensive. She has been studying with Lama Willa ever since, and through Lama Willa, Roxanne connected in 2010 with Brendan Kennedy, her other main teacher.

The Margha teachings have been foundational teachings which have served Roxanne well on and off the cushion since first being introduced to them in 2009 and continuing through Vajrayana and Dzogchen teachings and practices. Roxanne has also been a longtime student of the body through Alexander Technique lessons and as a Zero Balancing and Reiki practitioner. The dharma and the body are, of course, inseparable.

Both the teachings of Natural Awareness and Bodhicitta provide powerful and accessible skillful means to become more aware of my habitual patterns of action, thought and emotions which obscure my true nature and thus keep me trapped in conscious and unconscious suffering. The Margha teachings and practices enable me to come into more positive relationships with all parts of myself which in turn fosters more positive relationships with so called others. I am grateful to return formally to these Margha teachings through my role as a Mitra, in this, my second year.
