Lama Bryn Dawson

After pursuing training as an art therapist, Lama Bryn completed the seventh three-year retreat cycle at Palpung Thubten Choling. Upon returning, she dedicated her twenties to founding a retreat center with Lama Karma in the Smoky Mountains outside of Knoxville, TN (www.mocd.org) and was invited by Lama Willa to become Wonderwell Mountain Refuge’s first resident teacher. In her early thirties, she was called to authenticate the practice outside of her affiliation with Buddhist community. Among many trainings in the school of life, she studied critical psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies, was invited to learn the ties of family and land stewardship with the Secoya tribe in Ecuador, and found her most significant role as an auntie, while helping to raise her niece and nephew. Currently, she is training to become a psychotherapist working with couples and families. Lama Bryn is a lifelong visionary, artist and song catcher. She is passionate about inviting all into kinship with their courageous and wise hearts and our capacity to heal and transform consciousness through expressions of song, dance, and visionary art. With an accessible and gentle presence she reflects our innate compassion and embodied wisdom.
