Kyira Korrigan

Akutobhaya Kyira Korrigan (M.A., Buddhist Studies) is ordained as an Acharya in the Embracing Simplicity Contemplative Order, founded by Vens. Pannavati and Pannadipa (heartwoodrefuge.org). She has worked as a prison chaplain since 2014 and currently serves those incarcerated at Kent, the maximum-security men’s prison in British Columbia, Canada. She also has an extensive background as a yoga therapist, including eight years leading a trauma-informed program in the detox  at Insite Supervised Injection Facility (known to many through the writing of Dr. Gabor Mate.) Akutobhaya took her first Buddhist vows in 1996, and her practice focuses on the teachings found in the Pali Suttas and Early Indian Mahayana texts.
