Francine Rainone

Francine Rainone has been studying and practicing Buddhism her entire adult life. She began her work life teaching philosophy and Women’s Studies before leaving academia to become an acupuncturist and herbalist. To expand her knowledge and healing abilities she became an osteopathic physician with a focus on manual medicine. After practicing as a Family Physician she went on to specialize in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, caring for the chronically ill and dying as part of her Bodhisattva path. Now retired, she splits her time between Springfield NH and Philadelphia PA.  Her Buddhist teachers include Roshi Joan Halifax, Lama Surya Das, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Lama Willa Baker, Lama Tsultrim Allione, Brendan Kennedy and Tsoknyi Rinpoche. Although she has studied many traditions, her main practices are currently Dzogchen and Chöd. She is also influenced and informed by her practice of Qi Gong.
