The Art of Meditation: A Retreat for Beginners
With Lama Liz Monson
May 24 - 26, 2019
Sorry! Registration is closed.
Have you been wanting to bring meditation practice into your life but just haven’t found an opportunity? Are you interested in developing skills to help you find a healthier and more productive relationship to the speed, distraction, and anxiety that often arise in daily life? If so, this retreat is for you.
Over two thousand years ago, the Buddha compared the cultivation of meditation to the practice of training oneself in an artistic medium. At its core, meditation teaches us to reside creatively, playfully and at ease within the ebb and flow of this body’s interconnectedness to the world in which we live. As a technique, meditation provides us with tools to cultivate the “beginner’s mind” and to rest within the mind’s busyness while simultaneously waking up to our innate potential to create the life we wish to live.
Join Lopon Liz Monson as we learn how to practice the art of meditation, both developing the technical skills necessary for a successful meditation practice at the same time as we awaken the vision, spontaneity, and imaginative power of this human mind.
No prior meditation experience is necessary to attend this retreat. The retreat is open to those who wish to develop a meditation practice as well as to those who wish to deepen and refresh their current practice. During the weekend we will engage in the practice of Noble Silence, a powerful means by which to contact our own experience.

Wonderwell Mountain Refuge strives to offer retreats in a manner that is non-cost prohibitive and inclusive to persons of all means. Whether one needs to request aid to defer a large or small portion of the cost of a retreat so as not to incur a financial burden, we strive to accommodate you.
