Open Meditation Day at Wonderwell
November 4, 2026
Spend a day immersed in silent practice at Wonderwell Mountain Refuge, then join Lama Liz and our local sangha for our Wednesdays @ Wonderwell weekly meditation gathering from 6:00–7:30 pm ET.
Coming together just after Election Day, this Open Meditation Day at Wonderwell is an invitation to pause, ground ourselves, and make space for whatever may be alive in our hearts and in our wider world. Whatever the outcome of the election, emotions and uncertainty may be close to the surface, making this a meaningful opportunity to meet the moment together, supported by loving, compassionate community.
Our Open Meditation Hall Practice Days offer space for self-guided meditation within the sacred setting of Wonderwell’s shrine room and the quiet support of sangha. Whether you join for an hour or spend the entire day, you’re invited to settle into silence, deepen your practice, and meditate in community.
There is no formal teaching, guided meditation, or schedule to follow during the daytime practice. You are welcome to arrive and depart at any time between 10:00 am and 5:45 pm and to engage in whatever quiet contemplative practice best supports you. Silent sitting, walking meditation, prostrations, and gentle movement are all welcome, provided they are not disruptive to others in the hall.
Noble Silence will be observed in the Meditation Hall, porch, and front foyer, with an intention to maintain respectful sound levels throughout the building. The living and dining rooms will be open for quiet conversation. You’re welcome to enjoy a cup of tea from our tea station or bring your own snacks or lunch and spend a little time connecting with community.
At 6:00 pm, we’ll gather with Lama Liz and the local sangha for our weekly Wednesdays @ Wonderwell practice group. Lama Liz will offer a teaching and meditation, which will be followed by time for questions and sharing.
