“In the gap between thoughts, non-conceptual wisdom continuously shines.” – Milarepa (1028-1111)

In this weekend retreat, we will rediscover the world through the vision and liberative songs of Milarepa, Tibet’s most famous wild yogi, renowned for his unconventional methods and for the single-minded intensity of his commitment to attain liberation in one lifetime.  Join Liz and Camille as we bring the beauty, haunting power, and suggestive poetry of Milarepa’s songs of realization back into the present moment, showing how, no matter how much time has passed since he lived, Mila’s vision of enlightenment can continue to awaken us to the immediacy and presence of freedom in every moment. Not only will we explore some of Milarepa’s songs through reading and discussion, but also, we will take the insights and deep wisdom found in these songs into practice and into action. Our retreat will include periods of outdoor meditation (weather permitting) and other contemplative exercises through which we can discover for ourselves the original wisdom Mila knows so well.
