A Dharma Dialogue

Join Lama Willa and global yoga sensation Shiva Rea in dialogue and in motion as we explore together the power of yoga as a devotional and embodied portal to awakening.

Movement and rhythm have, since ancient times, been tribal portals for sacred ritual and devotion. In an age of disembodiment, movement and rhythm can help reconnect us to our bodies, to devotion and to the heart of awakening. This month’s Dharma Dialogue features Shiva Rea, a scholar and practitioner of the Indic yogic traditions who has been living a path of embodied and rhythmic devotional practice for decades. This special event will begin with dialogue and move into motion: Shiva and Lama Willa will start in dialogue about the body, movement and spiritual practice. Then Shiva will guide us in her unique recent treasury, the practice of dancing the ancient yogini tantras.

Bring your yoga mat, blocks, and be ready to move! Yoga is appropriate for all levels of practice.

Dharma Dialogues is a series (going into its fifth year at Natural Dharma Fellowship) of intimate informal exchanges between Lama Willa, Lama Liz and extraordinary pioneering teachers and spiritual leaders throughout the world. Participants have remarked on this series as an invitation to experience “dharma” in a new way: not as a doctrinal teaching, but as a spontaneous offering arising through the vehicle of relationship. The series is designed to allow our audience to peek behind the curtain to glimpse how a variety of extraordinary human teachers and leaders are accessing wisdom and navigating uncertainty in these challenging times. Past Dharma Dialogue guests have included Lama Rod Owens, Lama Tenzin Palmo, Dr. Stephanie Kaza, Pema Khandro Rinpoche, Dr. Anne Klein, Kaira Jewel Lingo, Dr. Cheryl Giles and many others.

Dharma Dialogue sessions begin with spontaneous reflections between our host and a special guest(s). After a break, the audience is invited into the dialogue to interact with the guest and host. We conclude with a practice chosen by and guided by our special guest to complement the theme of the dialogue.

This year-long Dharma Dialogue series will be held online one Sunday each month in 2024.
